Time goes so fast!

Last weekend was our 6 month "anniversary."  We didn't celebrate or anything, but it did cause some reflection.  My conclusion was that 6 months of marriage feels like we've always been married, and that we couldn't possible have been married that long....all at the same time.  The Lord has blessed us with similarities and differences that compliment one another perfectly.  More than I ever could have imagined in a husband.  He has blessed our marriage so that we have been able to avoid major arguments.  He has given us a grace for one another that when we get frustrated or disagree we learn quickly how to handle the situation. (Not always the best way at first, but better next time.)  He is working on me so that instead of being upset and bottling everything inside, my sweet husband lures it out so we can both understand.  I am excited to see what new things Jesus is going to to through us and in us over these next 6 months.  I know the move is going to bring trying and difficult events.  I also know that our God is good enough to use them for His glory and our sanctification.  I pray that he continues to bless us with the ability to get through it all, and I know he will be graceous to do so.
God is so good, and I love being married!!!

November, oh so sweet!

November has gone so quickly:
We put up our first Christmas tree.  (A little early so Luke could have plenty of time to enjoy it.)  It was so much fun decorating our home even just a little.

Mom and Christopher came to Denton so I got to spend an evening and most of Saturday with the fam up there.
We found out that we will be able to pick up our keys on Jan 16, and that we will be in the town home that was our first choice for housing when we move.  (I tried to put the floorplan on here but for now, I can't seem to make it work.)
We reserved our moving truck for January.
The other Hendersons came and stayed with us for Thanksgiving, and we all got to spend the day at the Green's.  Thanksgiving was wonderful, a beautiful meal, nice conversation, Christmas gift exchange, and fixing the girl's hair.

I had such a nice time finally being an official part of Luke's family.  (Even thought they have always made me feel welcome.)
We've been married for 6 months.
And now December is almost here..crazy!

So ready for the weekend!

Well...my nice quiet work life is over.  My boss got back from his 3 week vacation and all was off to a great start.  He brought gifts for each person on the team. He came to work on time, instead of the usual 2 hours late.  He was sitting at his desk working, as opposed to talking loudly to anyone and everyone about everything and nothing all at the same time.  Then....he loudly asked this.... "Lynn, have you gained weight?!"
(This might not seem like such a big deal since I am such a small individual.  But I have gained more weight since being married than I have in the past 9 years combined.  Whats worse is that I am now finally working out and eating well/regularly.)
I told him that you don't ever ask a female that question and pretended to laugh it off.
(By now I could hear teams on the other side of our large office laughing incredulously)
His response was "Well, No, I just meant you look like you've filled out."    - Not better.
I also realized today that I am going to need to talk to my Area VP (my sup.'s boss) about possibly transfering to North Carolina b/c my boss asked me multiple times about the move to "South Carolina" and "Charlotte."   AKA: He can't remember where we're moving so is no help when/if he talks to HR about it.
He makes me very ready to move.

Accepted

Thursday, October 1st, 2009 Luke and I received his acceptance letter to South Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary. As expected we are super excited, and a little apprehensive at the same time. We applied for housing and are thinking about moving the weekend of January 16th. I didn't realize how expensive it would be to rent a moving truck/van...yikes! But the Lord will provide, He has already in so many ways!

Our small-group has started up, and we are enjoying the couples so much already.
We went to Frontier Camp's 40 Anniversary last weekend, it was so fun. We loved hanging out with our family and close friends for a whole day! Here's a quick rundown of what we did: visited with some of our favorite people, rode the Giant Swing, waked around camp in the rain, rested at the pavilion, rodeo in the rain, Dutch Blitz, Ping Pong, BBQ. Little Emily is so much fun now that she is up and around, what a personality she has!
Thursday and Friday I was sick, not sure what it was, but I have been introduced to the joy of sick hours. It is so nice to not feel guilty for missing work (aka income) while feeling sick. Luke is so incredible at taking care of me...he is absolutely the sweetest husband ever.
Yesterday was Daddy's birthday, we love that guy so much! (don't get to see him nearly enough) Happy Birthday Dad!!!

Exciting events

Luke has all parts of his application into South Eastern. They should be getting his South Western transcript this week, then processing over the next month. We are excited and a little nervous...but mostly excited. We are finally getting involved at Christ Chapel. We are both in Thursday night bible studies (Men's and Women's) and we are working on getting into a small group. I can not wait to be involved in the community here, we miss it so much after leaving the Village. I've been surprised to find how much of a difference it makes to be involved in a church vs. attending one. Frontier Camp's 40th anniversary is coming up on Oct. 3, so we'll be getting to go back East and see tons of old friends and campers.

Full Time Job + Married Life

I wanted to start this blog to give our friends and especially our family a glimpse into our life and how our gracious God is sanctifying us through marriage. Okay, so here's what we've been up to for the past 2.5 months: I got my first full-time job at JPMorgan Chase Home Mortgage. I am a Non-Prime Loss Mitigation Clerk. Since being hired, my job function/process has changed 4 or 5 times. It can be frustrating at times, but thats the nature of the mortgage business right now. The very general view of what I do is...I help work the back office paperwork to help people modify their mortgages and avoid forclosure. Among our summer full of firsts, Luke had his last undergrad summer school class. (and is soooooo thankful for that) He just started his last semester of undergrad coursework today. He loves his profs and is excited about the courses...and his "school friends." As most of you know by now, we have been praying and thinking about moving to North Carolina. Luke sent in his application to Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary this week...so we will find out if we can move in January as planned. Right now the only hitch is the lack of available shot records. He might have to get all his shots again. to be continued.....
